Ha cool vid.

Hard to imagine shooting one of those...

Really? I couldn't believe someone would let them trash their yard like that.

I'd never shoot a mother and Cubs, but I'd sure as hell have run them off.

I was actually responding to MBs vid of the grizz rolling down hill, I didn't see there was another page of posts in the thread so my response was out of order, that ever happen to you?

This vid of bear day care, I gotta say, of all the crazy vids we see here on da House, this is one of the most ridiculous, funny, hard to believe vids I've seen. I would definetly tolerate minor
yard trashing in order to see this show. True, if they became habituated to such good times, a cherry bomb or what have you would probably be in order.

What an odd way to use your attack dog!

Cory I grew up and live in rural BC so bears are a somewhat regular occurrence. I'll regularly see the odd black bear here and there. I've seen atleast three or four this summer alone and now that falls hitting they'll be around more. Part of why I like my big dogs, bears never come around my home.

It doesn't seem like it would be safe to let your children play in the back yard if bears liked coming around. I don't really have a clue, but as much as the bear show might be interesting to watch, it seems to me that immediately running them off with a they aren't at all welcome method, would be better than letting them lounge around like on vacation in Miami beach.

Maybe if a oil burner transformer was used in place of a fence charger. Longer hotter spark..? I don't know, I'm weird.

Good stuff, Squish. Ive see one wild black bear in my life:whine:, that was in Oregon, logging.

I'm much more concerned about a mountain lion that I don't see, than a black bear that I do. At least, sorta.

There was a mountain lion here, in the Safeway parking lot, several years ago, and sightings on my little peninsula, over the last number of years.

We were just talking about local mountain lions. My friends have a large fenced yard, so their little kid can range an acre or more. The dad asked if he should be concerned. Shit happens, I told him.

There's more pressing things to worry about imo, like looking both ways before crossing the street. It doesn't take much juice to keep a bear away, ask any beekeeper.

Like Sean I look out for Cougars more than bears. Pots and pans would've sent the Bears in those vids scattering. A responsible person would put the run on a black bear anywhere near their home or property. Best thing for the bear too to have a healthy fear of all things human.

Is this for real???
