My 12 year old owns a gun, and goes to the range every three months. My 14 year old owns a gun and goes to the range about every six month. They both started shooting at age 10. So, so far their guns have a positive history...as do many others.

Myself raised on a farm with 5 brothers I had my first .22 when I was 8. A semi auto .22 when I was 10.
My first big rifle (.303) and 12 gauge shotgun when I was 12.
I was free to hunt and trap the land with them all by myself.

But when my big city cousins came to visit, my Dad would lock them up
