Project Muscle Truck (again!)

.030 over 350 (355), 10:1 hyper flat tops, nice lopy cam with a lot of duration and lift, roller rockers, some portwork to the heads, Edelbrock RPM Air gap manifold, blueprinted Holley carb, Hooker headers and a full 3 inch exhaust through Flowmaster 40 series mufflers.

It scoots along pretty good. There is a youtube video posted earlier in the thread of it passin' me on a country road... :)

Had to toss a few pics of the rod back in here... Plus I shot a picture of it's life today. Basically a storage box, and place to stack stuff around. I fold laundry on the hood since the washer and dryer are right in front of it.

This winter I plan on yarding the rearend out of it and installing 3.73 gears and an Eaton Posi-tracion unit. Maybe... just maybe... I'll do a rear drum to disc brake conversion on it too. :)

That truck has come a long ways.

Always room for another project...at least unless you get married again.

So I have been doin' a few projects on the Hot Rod...

My Dad bought me a line bending tool, and a double flare tool for X-mas. So I finally got it out and bent up a new fuel line to run from the Carter fuel pump to the Holley carb... here's waht turned out. I'm prett happy at how "factory" it looks. :)

Nice looking job. I got my son a bender like that for Christmas a couple years ago. It looks like it works well. No comment from my son yet.

How do you like the flaring tool? I bought one from NAPA years ago. KD. Not that good. One of my sons friends used it when I wasn't around and broke the little stub off. He replaced the whole set with some Chinese hunk of crap. I would like to trade it in, if possible. I looked at Craftsman and kinda liked how they were built. I think they were kinda pricey and I resisted. If they bend 3/8 and do a good job they must be pretty good. Happy with it?

The tubing bender is from Mac Tools. It's a quality product. Nice clean bends, and has marks for 45, 90, 135, and 180 degrees.

The Craftsman flare tool is the cats ass. Nice 45 degree flares. Cool part is you can clamp it in a vice for better stability. :)

Looks great Gary. I have a double flare kit from Blue Point. I don't care to use it because it means I'm laying under something fixing a fuel or brake line, but other than that, it's great.

Rats... I didn't realize how many pics were lost out of this thread... I had linked a lot of pics from here to a couple of "truck" forums. They aren't there anymore...

Just re read the entire thread over again.. You really are doing yourself proud on this truck Gary. Maybe I will get to done one myself someday. Sure does give me the itch reading about yours to build one though :D
