The chuck and duck thread has taken an interesting turn. so far we have a chainsaw and a cell phone thru the chipper. So what have you had go thru?

I should clarify... it wasn't my cellphone, and it wasn't an accident. ;)

I know of a choker chain that went thru a 9" Morbark. Didn't do the knife and anvil any favors, and it really did chip the chain. Even cut the C-hook into pieces.

I think it was the Brush Bandit chippers that used to come with a wooden push paddle, the average lifespan of which was about 10 minutes.

I know a guy who lost his entire gear bag through a woodsman drum chipper......

saddle, rope, lanyard, handsaw, carabiners, snaps, ascenders, etc, etc..................everything!

And no. It wasnt me.

Wow 2. That would definitely mess up your day. I want to adopt "Chipper". Think I would change his name, though.

That reminded me of when I was on a mow crew in high school and mowed over a nest of rabbits. Not a pretty sight.

Doug chipped a rake today, woops!

My bro let a lowering rope go through my chipper, luckily it chipped clean instead of wrapping around the drum. I was shitting bricks watching from up in the tree while orange rope came out of the chute.

Different slant to the thread but anybody chipped fruit tree with fruit on it? I chipped some type of smallish pear tree variant and it made sort of an oozing smoothy out of the chute after awhile, covered the hitch and back gates of truck, a real joy to clean up.

Ran a rotting bird carcus through, wont do it again.

I've seen a few cellphones , a shovel, a rake, a few ropes, and quite a few rocks.

A "few" cellphones? You must have groundies that like to yak instead of work, too!

Lol, I only chucked someone's phone once, only because he was supposed to be holding a rigging line, but instead, he was texting as I was about to cut a top out.
I don't have groundies btw, I freelance.

I think Iam going to buy a truck and fill it with all kinds of gear and chipper knives and have a mobile store to sell replacement gear to yall. haha My day is coming, I can feel it.

I have a chipper with a Cat in it...

When I worked for another outfit I had a camera go through the chipper:X My first chipper the guys were pushing brush in with an aluminum shovel, feed rollers grabbed it and it went in a third or half way up the scoop

over the years: scoop, polesaw head, gloves, keys, cell phone (mine - accidentally), baby birds/squirrels, soda cups, fast food sacks.

the last couple have been done in fun.

my phone fell out of my shirt pocket on the last load of rakings. fortunatly the dump closed right when we got there and wouldnt let me dump and there fore i was able to find my sim card. how i found it, i dont know. i thought id dropped the phone as the last job site. finding the card was a God thing...i knew only 1 phone number on it, my house.
