WCS Has New Mufflers For The 2511+Other(s)

Says it makes your saw sound rowdy. I prefer mine to sound more sedate :^D I added a hole to my muffler, and while it isn't obnoxious, it doesn't sound as nice as stock.

Y'all think these things really work? I can't say my saw feels any more powerful after adding a hole. Assuming it is more powerful, if I can't feel it, does it make a difference? I can definitely hear that it's louder. I wonder how much of these things are 'sounds louder, must be more powerful'?

On a technical note, it's an interesting exhaust outlet position. Is there a reason they didn't take the obvious path of the hole at the bottom of the case?

There could be problems with an aluminum muffler loosening over time. I'd have made the muffler bigger.

Yeah, outlet position is kinda dumb, lots of exhaust blowing right in your face. I also agree that aluminum maybe isn't the best material for a chainsaw muffler.

Also also, if it doesn't have the proper spark arrestor screen, they'll crucify you in my area.

Trouble with the second one is it’ll burn holes in your trousers if you stow the saw.

i have no issues with that, but i rack it on the handle, much faster an it pretty much stays put, no flopping around.

Huh, Idk never had any issues like that and I use that saw I’d say 80% of the time, but i don’t climb full time usually just 1-2 times a week right now. I really like the Egan pipe on the 2511 tho, so much that I got one for my 261, boy was that a mistake 😂😂 I would feel bad using that thing on a job it’s so loud. It’s just sitting on a shelf now.

I should qualify, that isn’t using a properly modded exhaust, just me and a 1/2 inch drill getting medieval!
