Watches

I quit wearing a wristwatch, back when I hitchiked all the time. It is too easy to look at the watch every so often and loose your zen-like calm, where it doesn't matter how long you've been waiting in the same spot.
Since then I have worn a pocket watch. An ordinary 50$ mens wristwatch attached to a chain. They last forever, when they live in a snug pocket instead of on a wrist.

I wear one when I'm working because I have to know when to pack up to do a kid pickup or make an appointment. I break'em pretty often too. I like the Casio Forrester but they break pretty easily. Right now I have this $15 POS Armitron digital which I hope to break soon cuz I don't like it at all.

I like a nice dress watch, back when I actually made money I wore a Breitling Avenger but it got stolen when my house was broken into.

I like analog, I insist my kids be able to read a damn clock. My cell phone doesn't do it for me because I stopped carrying it in the tree... which is where I need to keep up with the time.

I have my grandpas slip on, wind up in a box. I tried wearing a watch as a kid but never could stand it for very long. My cell is nearly always in my pocket, even up tree

I have several, a couple of dress watches (they are both the same) that I have been gifted over the years and get worn maybe once a year. Wedding band only Al. I have a work type wrist watch that is on the transmission shifter of my pickup. It always made my wrist go numb if I wore it on my right hand and when I was coaching baseball if I threw a ball with my left the watch band which is velcro would usually go flying off. I've heard of some guys that will get a cheap watch and glue it to the inside of their hardhat. Now that I'm doing trees if I try and wear one it will end up going through the chipper.

Do to the fact I have worked around rotating machinery most of my adult life I just cannot take the chance of wearing a wrist watch or rings .

Way too many people have lost fingers hands and arms because they got snagged up and I don't want to be one of them .
