There are four places my saddle has way too much excess webbing after all adjusts. The very ends have a few inches of veccro to attach back to legs or waist. Should I just heat cut the ends with enough length to resew the velcro... or just skip the velcro entirely... I have used this saddle over a year and I reall can't see the reason for the velcro at all ... it's not safety because the leg buckles lock ... thoughts? ...

I cut and burn the ends so they don't fray.

Does the velcro prevent the webbing from coming back through the buckles? It might be a "safety" thing too. When I put rigging plates on my old saddle the ends of the webbing were folded and stitched to keep them from being able to back out of the clasps. I did give those a restitch because they were all attached to the bridge rings.

I LOVE having velcro on my harness straps. I sew it on if it doesn't come with it. I hate flappy straps, so it gives me mega zen piece of mind calm to velcro them down.

I've never had a prob with velcro interfering with buckle function.

love
