Whitworth is an old company .They made one of the most accurate black powder firearms of all times used by the Confederate forces during the cival war as a snipers rifle .Trivia 101 .

Very Nice,

The 243 is a great all round calibur and I'm quite fond of it!. You can use it on a range of critters from groundhogs up to even Elk, (with the proper size bullet that is).

This calibur is gaining a lot of popularity. In my area, they recently changed the shooting regulation. At one time we could use up tp a 270 calibur but with more & more people moving into the area form the city, we're now only allowed to use up to a 243 calibur! Reason, the 243 its a much more practcal round, especialy on cyotes & deer!!!

So long as you don't plan on hunting Moose or them Big Bears out west, then the 243 will serve you just fine on everything else, IMHO.

Nice Rifle.

I think they were built on ex millitary M98 Actions.Somtimes you can still see the charger loading slot on the receiver bridge.

Very solid Rifle.Well done!
