good call on that query Bostonian. I am actually looking for new speakers for our annual landscape association trade show.. PM me your details Gerry please, appearance fee, travel costs etc. usually a 2 hour talk is asked for, slides, etc.

This day and age I get $700 plus expenses. Though little time actually speaking. Videos carry most of my time at these things.

I'll be in Rochester, MN in Feb doing a two hour presentation,, to about 200 local arborists.

Speaking spots are cool, the people I meet are great, but I really do need to loosen up at the podium.

Whatever you have to say, Jerry, people would be interested. Keep that in mind, and maybe it can help you relax.

I get nervous with anything over....say....ONE PERSON!

Although it doesn't seem to matter much lately, I can even sing to a crowd of 100 now....ok, so they're cows....I think I could have taken a different direction when I was younger. I've turned down so many opportunities because of this phobia.

Maybe some day...........

When two or three hundred sets of eye-balls are focused on you and waiting to hear what you have to say it can make a novice choke. And while not as bad as in the past I can certainly do a lot better.

Three is a crowd to me. I grew up on a dairy, cows are easy to talk to.8)

Sometimes it's just a little jittery in the beginning, but after you warm up to it, things go better. It always helps if the people in attendance are genuinely interested, and going to a question and answer format can eat up a lot of time. ;)
