OK Im not a political type so you wont find me shouting at folks for being this or that. I read this artical and it actually makes sense to me....

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081206/ap_on_el_pr/obama_economy

As I say Im no economist or polititian but it seems like spending money on shit that needs to be done at HOME and creating jobs at HOME just makes sense. Dont know where the money is coming from but WTF they get money for everything else...........

PC, It isn't ALL hokum. Spending money-no matter who does it, means that money has the opportunity to move through various hands in a series of exchanges of goods and services. That is good for an economy. The problem is (and it is a big one) that government only has two sources of money. 1. they take it from someone (which stops those natural exchanges of goods and services and stifles economic actvity. 2. They create money out of nothing.......which devalues the currency , causes prices to rise and, while stimulating activity in the short term winds up undermining the system itself so that it ends in a zero sum at best.. Remember that Government has the reverse Midas touch and can turn gold to crap by merely handling it.

Our past investments in infrastructure more than paid for themselves. The highways paid for themselves. The G.I. paid huge dividends to this country. The public University systems have paid huge dividends. The space program has paid off big too. The government shouldn't do everything but has a solid record of helping American industry capitalize on its(ours) investment.
