The Snap Cut

I like it mugs. I snap cut all the time. I don't rig down wood unless I have to. That's not to say I haven't had my fair share of quickly guiding the log one handed because it went early, but i often push the envelope. It's good practice and keeps you in tune with how much things weigh and what kind of force it takes to move things.
 
If you're going to use a bar wrench or wedge to go right through, might as well use a roller, if its heavy. The Notch climber's wedge is very small compared to small wedges. I didn't realize this. Came with my last TS order. Looks good. haven't used it at all. Not a one-size-fits-all aerial wedge, though.

I'll bury my bar in the snap cut on the second cut, if I want it to stay put while pushing a piece I was flipping down 6-8' long, small diameter cedar log like this yesterday.
