The crane in the wires, I've watched an almost identical situation once and the crane owner handled it instead of standing there with his thumb up his ass watching his crane burn up. He hollered for a rope, somebody grabbed an old rope out of the truck and he lassoed the ball with it. Then he pulled the ball back so the crane cable was out of the power line. He passed the rope to another guy who held it back while the crane guy jumped back on the crane and raised the boom back up. The only damage was two slightly melted front tires and the matching stains on the customer's driveway. He drove the crane back to the yard, though.

They get a lot of things wrong in the movies when it comes to planes.

Did you know letting go of the controls won't send the plane into an out-of-control death dive to the earth?

I call bullshit on that, at least it should happen when the pilot has a heart attack and falls forward on the yoke then the copilot gets food poisoning and he dies instantly and the navigator is in the rear cabin schmoozing a hot stewardess, otherwise you are probably right. Unless Wesley Snipes is a marshall on the flight, that dude can do anything.

I have a lot of fun with passengers when I let go of the yoke and rummage around in my flight bag on the rear seat.

Maybe in Milwaukee, but when I lived in California in the early 80es, people were skinny dipping at the beaches, just like in Denmark.

Except the Californian girls were more fun to watch than the Danish ones, but then the grass is always greener..............................!
