We've had a couple bus hijackings fairly recently. Done by deranged individuals with a knife, one guy per incident, and in one case a passenger was murdered. I don't believe it was anyone trying to stop it that was killed. Everyone did nothing to try and end it apparently. I don't believe I would have just sat there, rather wait for an opportunity to stop the incident. With a bus full of people and the culprit walking around, there has to be chances, or just confront the person and go for it. The incidents stopped when the cops raided the bus. Cowards, I figure.

An annual festival not far from me. They say riding the big logs will bring spiritual awareness. Every year invariably someone or more die, so perhaps getting crushed is the height of spiritual awareness...or maybe just being nuts? Even the fallers that supply the trees get blessed, I should maybe try and get in on that.
People will get whipped up to a frenzy at some of these festivals. Usually too much sake.

I was walking next to a log that the skidder brought out, last week.
Having just watched this the night before I jumped on top of the log and damned near crippled myself.
When you are wearing caulks, the is absolutely no give, so even a (relatively) slow moving log will knock you on your ass.
