Hmm makes me wonder. The tops were large tops but nothing compared to what I loaded an old half inch climbing line with some 36" willow. This weekend I used the lath ex-ring and the medium 3/4 ISC pulley. I noticed the flat sections as my groundsmen lowered the tops after the had let them run quite a ways. I had plenty of room to let them run just could drop them straight down due to a propane tank.
The top kid of disappears in the bush but you get the idea, decent sized tops but not nearly as wet of wood as I've dealt with in other cottonwoods, willows or elms. I'm going to keep an eye on it, the flat spot was about 80' through a 200' hank. So I'll be a little disappointed if I find it again. I lost track of my mind and didn't inspect the rope when I got down like I should have.
