Well I was talking about both muffs and plugs, but regarding Yellow Classics, yes I was referring to Yellow Classic EARPLUGS! :P

The original classic yellow earplugs provides comfort with low pressure. Expands in the ear for custom fit. NRR 29

Clearly the Classic Yellows have a better NRR rating than even muffs.

I dont like those rubber type plugs. They always seem to expand before I can get them in my ears. I like the foam ones cuz they stay compressed just a bit longer giving me ample time to get them all the way in. At work, we have tons of different kinds of plugs and I always have problems with them. So I just brought in my own box of Classics.
Those plugs have a damn good NRR Carl. Good for the range too!

Ha! That's one thing I like about them, faster expansion.

And heck yeah I wear them for anything approaching loudness, go through a couple boxes a year.

You know they make hygeine kits for the muffs so you can replace the parts that get nasty.

I emailed the people who made the Peltor Worktunes....they sent me some replacement pad things for free. :D

They've sent me replacements for the plastic covers too. I think I may be due for a new pair......duct tape can only do so much................

The ear muffs on my vertex helmet work pretty good but are getting snagged a lot. They also don't work very well over my balaclava(for you warm weather folks see below). I use the red tapered plugs that Bailey's sells in bulk. Those foam yellow ones used to get stuck too far in.

That balacawhatchyacallit looks like ninja attire. That casual easy going demeanor you exhibit never fooled me! Busy at night? :/:

This is what I use E.A.R.soft yellow neons 33 db reduction rate. You can get corded or not corded. For the ones with a small ear canal you can get E.A.R.soft yellow neons blaze, they still have the 33 db rating also....

The best plugs are those you personally are comfortable enough to wear often enough to make a differance.

For me that is the CaboFlex that Brian pictured. Another up side to them is not handling the ear insert, jsut the band. Also, the slick, impermeable foam that doesn't pickup or hold most 'dirts' etc.

The downside is the way the can stethescope sound through them. So, may plot to have band on back of head or under chin, where ever to avoid contact vibrations IMLHO. i've only broken a few bands over the years, a place that sells to the city locally even sells them/ has them and the pods on the shelf.

Frans told me a while back about the merits of Cigarette butts in a crutch.

I used them today, not too bad.
Protection was somewhere in between no ear plugs and ear plugs.

The neighbor came out later and I got some real ones from him.
