Songs/lyrics that MOVE YOU...

This song came on the radio a while back and it knocked me sideways.
It’s about a mother visiting the grave of her son (a friend of George Michael)
Passing his old school and wondering what she has done to deserve it.

It never fails to move me.

A real genius.

Look around me
I can see my life before me
Running rings around the way
It used to be
I am older now
I have more than what I wanted
But I wish that I had started
Long before I did
And there's so much time to make up
Everywhere you turn
Time we have wasted on the way
So much water moving
Underneath the bridge
Let the water come and carry us away
Oh when you were young
Did you question all the answers
Did you envy all the dancers
Who had all the nerve
Look round you now
You must go for what you wanted
Look at all my friends who did and got what they deserved
And there's so much time to make up
Everywhere you turn
Time we have wasted on the way
So much water moving
Underneath the bridge
Let the water come and carry us away
And there's so much love to make up
Everywhere you turn
Love we have wasted on the way
So much water moving
Underneath the bridge
Let the water come and carry us away
Let the water come and carry us away

I'll bet a lot of us can relate to this song. I was tall and thin when I started doing tree work at 18 years young. I bulked up quickly and felt like I was unstoppable and unbeatable. I'm still a rock 40+ years later, just have a nice cushy covering of moss these days.

Hard to believe it's been 13 years since this song was released....yet it's as relevant now as it was then....
