Hey,

I have a petzl sequoia srt saddle. Looking for a shoulder harness recommendation that will actually take the load off my hips. Carrying around a bigger saw lately and really noticing the weight.

The Courant koala chest and Tree Austria shoulder caught my eye. Anyone have experience with them?

The sequoia is a light saddle with narrow padding to begin with. That is the root of your problem. Suspenders will help, but you will still not solve the issue. The more surface area to distribute the load, the better.

What is your build? Is a heavier harness in your budget? I'm lean and bony, and I love my Monkey Beaver, but it's pricy and I pay a weight penalty to the harness itself.

Good feedback. I’m a small build. Not looking to get a new harness. Mines fairly new. Monkey beaver does look nice. Do you use the monkey beaver shoulder harness?

Yessir. It's not life support rated, but it is very comfortable. Helps share the load without inhibiting range of motion or flexibility.

Sussies will make your life more comfortable, and will help reduce fatigue, regardless.
