Here is an upcoming alternative to the GRCS and others. They will have a website that's coming but for now all of their info is on their instagram account. They are looking to charge between $1800 and $2000 but also their WLL will be less than the GRCS. They are currently using a Lewmar 15 ST winch but are testing a Harken Radial 20 to see if they prefer that one. I think they are rating those winches at 1200 lbs for the WLL. That's noticeably less than the GRCS but it's also significantly lighter so easier to set up and it has the bollard and winch attached where you can quickly transition back and forth. Everything has plusses and minuses at different price points. For a pruning and light removal crew this might be ideal. They haven't released a WLL on the bollard but I would expect 2000 lbs or so. They are looking to release it through Arbsession in the early spring.

It would be significantly less to fiddle with than a 5:1. Plus I think it's about a 15:1 or 20:1 ratio so you can get a lot more pull with it. I think they mentioned the Lewmar uses the same handle as the Harken so you can probably use the drill adapter from the GRCS to put a stout drill on it. As long as you keep the rpms down and not pull too big of a load it shouldn't harm the winch.

would be interesting to put a dynanometer on it… a 40 wich would be the smallest i would wanna go. and i dont get those combo-setups. i‘d rather have only a winch and a portawrap. makes winching much easier and more flexible setup.
