I guess there is only one way to find out if that hat will protect your head...

I suppose it's better than this one:

That's a lot of holes. I'm no hardhat engineer, but I thinks you have severely compromised the integrity of the hardhat. It's more like that thing I can never find in my kitchen when I need to drain pasta.

Jeez Butch, you weren't kidding. That thing has more holes in it than OJ Simpson's alibi!

I'm guessing you never broke a hard hat, eh Butch? Ever since I broke my last one I'm wearing nothing but kevlar on my noggin.

My old Petzl Ecrin Roc broke when a fairly small hanger fell out and got me. I was surprised that it broke after such a light impact, considering it had taken much harder impacts in the past. It turns out the plastic type of helmets degrade in sunlight and get brittle over time. It made sense after I thought about it.

Generally with bicycle helmets, in the instructions there is a cautionary about degrading over time, I think that usually they advise replacement after two years. Haven't purchased a new hardhat in awhile, not the same advisory?

My Petzl is about 2 years old, so I'm due for a new helmet. I keep putting it off, though. Helmets are not cheap.

Just who was it that left Butch all alone in a room with a hand-drill??? :/: :P

I doubt Butch did it, those ridges around the holes look like the hat was molded that way. I'm guessing they act as a reinforcement.
