That's a lot of holes. I'm no hardhat engineer, but I thinks you have severely compromised the integrity of the hardhat. It's more like that thing I can never find in my kitchen when I need to drain pasta.
My old Petzl Ecrin Roc broke when a fairly small hanger fell out and got me. I was surprised that it broke after such a light impact, considering it had taken much harder impacts in the past. It turns out the plastic type of helmets degrade in sunlight and get brittle over time. It made sense after I thought about it.
Generally with bicycle helmets, in the instructions there is a cautionary about degrading over time, I think that usually they advise replacement after two years. Haven't purchased a new hardhat in awhile, not the same advisory?
