Congrats kikori.
Now that your certified what have you decided on your trailer combo?

Willard.

Eric, You can get a longer tongue extension. I put that one on there to keep the discharge chute from getting damaged when backing up. Id try to out fit it with some better tool boxes.

Wouldn't adding boxes to the tongue add too much tongue weight? I already have quite a bit of sag going on here!

Also, If I made the tongue longer, doesn't that bring more weight towards the truck-bringing the center of gravity further away from the axels towards the truck? Or does longer tongue make the center of gravity back up away from the tongue?

Is my question clear?

Cheers,

Eric

The longer the tongue, the less tongue weight, to my way of thinking. Imagine the extreme, a mile long tongue, the tongue weight would be minuscule.

By extending the tongue, you put the weight further away from the truck so less of the weight is on the truck and more is on the trailer axle. Think of how the log arch works. You have a very long handle (tongue) and the weight is only slightly in front of the trailer axle.

Only if nothing else in the trailer loading changes except the additional tongue length. If you put additional loads out in front of the axle, then it does potentially change, doesn't it?
