Hmmm. I've replaced caps on my Stihl BG85 blower, Stihl FS110 string trimmer, and Stihl 192t. Thought it was just me.

Last month I remember filling the string trimmer, and 5 min later I was out of gas. What the heck?! The cap wasn't on just right.

I think it's not the best design. If I take time to make sure everything is lined up exactly right, there is no problem. But it is a bit tedious.

there is no hearing protection out there that can protect you from that hi-pitched , screaming, husky whine...;)
when I worked on a forestry crew, we could always find the one guy who liked the husky, even if he was a mile away in the bush LOL

Weight to horse power ratio is much better with a STHIL. I also like the way the handles are with the sthil better. My boss has mostly huskvarnas except two ms361 for the bucket and for climbing, and 4 200ts. I have 3 sthils...ms250 18" bar for climbing, ms361 20" bar and 24"bar, and a ms441 28" bar.

There are so many different model saws that have come down the pike over the years from both Husky and Stihl. There are great ones and lesser so on both sides. If people only want to talk about saws that are currently marketed, perhaps some of the generalizations that are being expressed can have some application, but that's not much fun and denies history and what may be happening tomorrow. A Husky 242xp, no longer being made for a number of years now, is a wonderful low mid range sized saw, coming off the dealer's shelf with 15,500 rpms thrust. Mod it beyond that and it really kicks azz into other worldly.

Got to learn to spell Husqvarna too.

opps I knew it didnt look right. husqvarna husqvarna husqvarna husqvarna...got it.

Nick, the only reason Erik's huskys run sorta ok is he shot the last one that didn't run right. Now the rest are scared!

Another vote for despising those stupid caps!

I hate to say this, but they work just fine with alkylate fuel.
So, don't hate the caps, hate the ethanol.

I probably run more fuel through saws than most of the people here, and I don't have any problems with those caps.
I just wish they'd put them on the 660, too.

i had a stihl blower br550 with a loose cap leak all down my side and butt and it was rainy so i didnt notice it until the burning started. I double and triple check the caps now ever since that day. I have have never wanted a change of clothes more than i did that day

I have had those stupid caps from the day they first came out and have never replaced a cap. While I despise them, I have no issues with them. Others do though, and it's part of the training equation for sure.

Bermy I've burned myself with fuel once, dumped most of a tank on my cutting pants and thought nothing of it, by the end of the day my quads were burned! It sucks bad.

Stihl rules!!!!!!

He, he, I managed to get a flippy cap AND Stihl/Husky debate going in one thread!

As for the spill, it's my girly skin for sure, yup, yeah!...and that's right where the harness rubs all day too.

Today's mishap was a snap hook in the chops...fat lip, sigh.

I feel a spa day coming on...SOON!

Yesterday was my spa day, excluding the facial rejuvenation therapy. I got a good clobber in the head with a crane hook once, not those little taps you get. Not recommended for maintaining proper thinking processes.

I poured a full tank from a 660 directly on my crotch about a year ago. Poured all the water (3 liters) I had trying to stop the burn, knocked on the older lady's door that I was working for "Could I have some water please?" "Well why don't you come in for a coffee?" "Oh just a jug of water thanks." Finally had to go home and hop in the shower. I've spilled gas everywhere but there before and never had a problem. Sensitive bits beware.

When it comes down to it, I think I prefer the spilled gas route over the oil one. Such a mess that doesn't evaporate and it does take awhile to all blend in. :|:
