Not in the usual way, but everytime I order something from the US, I have a hard time getting my address across on the phone. Streetnames in Denmark sound weird to american ears, I guess.
So I thought of learning the military way of saying letters: Tango-Bravo-Zulu= TBS etc.
Problem is, I only know a few of them and can't remember what the method is called, so I can look it up on the internet and start memorizing.

Help, somebody.....................please.

In the Army we called it your funny book, we would spell out words using it. Carl has ya covered, good luck I hope it helps out.
Lima
Alpha
Tango
Echo
Romeo

Stig, I don't know that phonetic alphabet either, I make my own up when they don't understand me.I usually use names, like Doug for D, Sally for S. Silly I know, but it works for me.

Me too, Gigi. My maiden name was Retsinas....so I always had to spell it out on the phone. I remember using "T as in Tom", "S as in Sam"

So I don't just need to learn to spell phonetically,
but to spell at all:)

Stig-No you did fine. You spelled practise like a crazy brit.-Those guys even think there should be a y in tire. For some reason they even think that the English manner of spelling English is proper.-As if it were their language or some such silly thing.
