I called earlier as I never received and e-mail confirmation for my order.

He said they are dropping a lot of the orders as it was a mis print. The early orders, (like mine :D) are being shipped supposedly. He said they got hundreds of phone calls.

Grainger called today. They are not shipping any welders. They will only take off 30% off the sale price, no questions asked, they don't want to hear anything. She said call the federal trade commision about false advertising, there's nothing she can do.

Bleh, I just assumed the company would held up there end of the deal. I eat my mistakes, but I'm a nice guy. :D

I won't buy anything from them ever, as they gave the run around. First lady says since that what it showed online they have to honor it, next guy says no, but yours got ordered in time so your good to go, then two e-mails today saying your shit outa luck.

They must be busy though, calling hundreds and hundreds of people back.

I really want the Miller 252 anyways, back to saving. :|:

Here in Wisco that is called bait and switch which is illegal but I think that only applies to in store purchases.

I walked into a deal today! The guy I've helped with remodeling his house, his daughters house, whatever, that got broken into all the time, long story.
Anyway, her hubby is full time in the military now and dad is in PA taking care of his mom, they are siding it and the contractors don't have a clue so I've been trying to keep them moving and doing it right and mediating between them and her, lots of miscomunication!
Anyway, I get there this afternoon and she's on the phone with dad trying to describe what she is looking at, so I helped with that. I guess they are going to have an auction and sell what they don't want to move/deal with anymore. Sorry, long explanation.
Next thing I know she says her dad wants to talk to me. OK. "Are you interested in the welder?" Hell yes I'm interested in the welder, but I tell him I don't have any money and no idea when I'll have any! "That's not what I asked, if you want it load it up and take it home today! Grab that cold cut saw to, I'd rather give it to you and know it's going to be used and I can use it when I'm down there than take a beating selling it!"
I scored a Millermatic 130xp and a Dewalt 14" cold cut metal saw!

Some times those blessing fall out of the sky when you least expect them .Another example of what goes around comes around with a positive notation .

Further on the subject .It's been my observation that as general rule given enough time all the kindness you've managed to muster up in your life will be repaid in magnitude proportion and likewise the people who took a crap on you will also recieve payment in kind .

I ran those micro wire welders after they were first on the market which was mid 60's and not yet available in the smaller versions used today .

Believe it or not I could dial that thing down and weld an aspirin tin together . Of course I burned a few to cinders before I finally got the secret .

The things were initially made for light gauge metal but found later usage on heavier gauge stuff with limited success depending on the application .

It was found that the actual gas shielded micro wire welding was not successful in aplications such as structural steel or crane booms or something of that nature .Fact during testing on a crane boom which came apart under load the practice was deemed unsafe and discontinued before it actually was adopted .

Since those early years other application of a modicication of wire fed welders have been successful .For example the armored hulls and bodies of the Abrams tank are wire welded .Welding trivia 101 .

Someone could make some dough if they could find a practical use for the plastic spools that the wire comes on.
