Carl, I was not meening to make it sound as if my needs were any different.

In my mind I am not understanding how the grapple would be better for the bigger wood that I am dealling with on most of my jobs.

Do you know who did the last round of work? She told me she wanted me to do a goodly bit of work before Easter (I'd already done a good bit of work), we were waiting for the lines to be cleared. I called to see if the lines had been cleared in June, she said they were doing it then and she'd call me back (Thurs, she'd call Fri) to let me know if they got done so I could start that Monday. Monday rolls around, I call, she says she's on the other line and would call me back shortly. She never did. When I was on my way to Rhode Island I saw someone else had started doing that work.

Kinda pissed me off, to say the least (she couldn't nut up and tell me). I had after all done a good deal of work out there, things were apparently going great, she even called while I was in Cali to see what my schedule was like and for some advice with millipedes. The Tues after Easter I broke my foot clearing storm damage for her. Of course didn't make a sink of it for her, since it was my fault (but her liability) then she leaves me high and dry. Yep, a bit miffed.

Still can't find my camera. Loaded some 14' logs in my trailer with the grappes today and some 3' Diameter short logs into the chip truck with the forks. The grapples just won't hold that large diameter stuff and the forks suck in the brush. I have entertained the idea of a top clamp on my forks.

That trailer has some big old tires .Those certainly aren't the normal 14.5 low boy type .

What in the world is that limby stuff, pin oak ?

Actually, there's 2 trees on the trailer, Al. Both about 85 footers.

I've got a couple of Norfolk pines that are nearing 80 but they certainly aren't that portly .

Now the wheelbarrow thing .They make all kinds of them from the Georgia buggys for placing concrete to just landscapers clean up types .

I've yet to see any tree company trimmer types to ever use one though .Mainly skid loaders and actually in these parts the larger sizes and not the baby ones . I suppose it's a regional thing though .

I thought that's where it was...no more'n a block from her office I believe. No, I don't know who did the work. She called me about taking down about five that were under the primary and trimming back another from over one of the units. I was going to sub out the stumps and overestimated what it would cost to have them ground I guess. She talked like I was just a little higher than whoever got that particular job. She seemed hyper to get it done to start with...then just seemed to fizzle.

Yup, something like that could prove useful. I do love my grapples and they are just right for the size of my machine but forks are a large part of my operation too.

Yep, not far from her office at all.

You didn't miss much fun on those topped, POS trees. Chipping them was a nightmare.

My dump truck was tied up on a roofing job at the time, so I was going to have to haul it all away on a trailer. Looked to be several suckers on them.

 It took two of us a looong day to get them done. The city "dump" isn't very well suited for multiple trips to dump brush, or logs. Even chips could be a PITA. Never got stuck but came mighty close.
