So, it's a lost oil system, but what consumption of oil it involves ?

Very little

On a water pump with a mechanical seal I think it’s supposed to be one drop per minute. That might be rope packing. I think this is less.

Cattle feed mixer. Hundreds of tons of feed thru it per day. The feed goes into several semis that feed the cattle for about 8 hrs a day. They have 3, always a spare on hand. They last about 3 years before rebuild. Shell is broken and rusted out, gear teeth worn and loose on the shafts.

That's a thick chunk of metal to bend like that.

Pretty heavy duty. Bad weld cause failure? Looks like it could use a bigger engine and pump for the size of the cylinder.

I think it needed a lower relief pressure for the size of the cylinder vs. the bracketry 😆
