looking for f450-550 chevy 3500 blown motor

just wondering if any of yalls know of any deals on a 1 ton 4x4 with a blown motor. I have a nice cummins 6bt with trans and transfer case I was going to put in my chip truck but I was thinking that since its such a POS maybe if I could pick up a cheap cab and chassis and stick my drivetrain and dump body on it.

I know where there is a 97 (I think) 3500 Chevy, its white with a flatbed.

Bad Duramax motor $8500.00

Wow, that's hugely over priced.

For what it's worth, the Duramax didn't come around until 2001.

That is a good deal but a little more than I wanted to pay. Still how could somebody let a 2 year old truck go for $30k less than they paid for it????

Fairly sure you can get a Cab and chassis duramax in the high 20's/low 30's. I nearly bought a new C&C 6 speed duramax 3500 in 07 for $27k.

Yeah but in my present financial situation $27 hundy is maore what Im looking at In all reality Ill probably put the cummins in my F350 but it has 110k miles of tree work on it. Springs are wore out brakes have never been good and truck is just tired, I picked up a project truck (90 suburban) off of ebay with a crate cummins rebuilt trans with reciepts for $2700 and gear transfer case and Packbrake ehaust brake for $2k.
