Lanyards??

A lanyard is a short tether.

Ive always called them a lanyard. I wouldnt call them a flip line as I dont flip them. To me its a short tether on my saddle used to fine tune my position.

I checked mine today...it is 16' long, with a distel and pulley on right side and aluminum snap on the end. I often use it as a short climbing line...I coil up the extra and secure with a quick release knot to keep it out of the way.

Sometimes rather than snap into the left side D ring, I snap into the center anchor point on my New Tribe saddle...helps put the stress on the legs rather than the waist when using it as a climb/suspension line.

If I limb walk the extra length lets me anchor at the end of the limb to help return to the trunk under control...that way if I slip I don't make a bounce off the trunk traverse unintentionally.

Ditto...just about everything he said...
My lanyard is 20', I have two bridges on my B'fly so the lanyard can be moved to the bridge if I don't want it on the side d's.

(I know, I'm late, playing catchup...)

Ummmm...there were moments of great personal achievement, flashes of brilliance by my teamates, interspersed with depressing thuds as hockey balls smoked past me into the back of the goal...but in every game I saved many more than got in!

We did reasonably well, held our own against Trinidad, Mexico and Jamaica, staying within a goal of the last time we played them five years ago.
THEN....we played Argentina, who just happen to be #2 in the WORLD!!! We were #55 at that point...I swear some of the balls going past me had smoke coming off the back of them. It was a lesson in precision, teamwork and skill I will never forget!
All in all a good finale to my 'career' as the Bermuda national team goalkeeper. I'll stick to club hockey now!

Now maybe if I'd had some lanyards strung across the goal....

Absolutely! Just being able to be on the same field as the second best team in the world is a huge accomplishment. Sounds like it was quite exciting! I had no idea you were a pro athelete, Fiona. :)

Yes it was! Notice I put 'career' in inverted commas! I wish I got paid to play hockey, maybe it would pay for all my physio treatments!
