West coast saw 3 points. The middle one is aligned with the chain. Helps line up cuts, not stall the clutch, n stuff

That's interesting re the "west coast dogs". I've spent over 4 decades doing pro saw work here in NW Oregon, and I've never set eyes on a set of dogs configured that way .
