Line clearance and spruce tree shaping! We did a shitpile of that in Calgary. My old boss uses a Macguyver version of the trim saw...corded angle grinder with a circular saw blade strapped to a pole. The name you ask...Crazy Saw.
I put a few days in with him in June, helped him dismantle a couple of cottonwoods and then he asked me to use the boom to shape a spruce tree. I tell ya what after using hydraulic tools that crazy saw was nothing but a pain in the ass...and a dangerous one at that! I don't know how many times I've told him to make the investment in the tool, but the ol goat wont budge!
So, yes, if you do a lot of ornamental shaping of evergreens...or hedges, that tool is the bees knees.
