Anyone making there own? I think I have all the ingredients now to try making my own. I'm not using oil, and there are almost no commercial offerings without oil. I did get some store made stuff tonight, and it's pretty nutty/burnt flavored. I think when I try, I'll be adding plenty of garlic or other flavor enhancers.

Never thought of making my own, doh. Let us know how it goes

We pretty much exclusively make our own. M has several recipes...but they all include some oil, Dave. All include a bunch of fresh garlic. Most have a significant kick from either a Tabasco style hot sauce or a potent spicy paprika...she is partial to the Penzeys brand, who have many varieties. This is the total bomb for heat and flavor. I could ask her for specifics if you or others are interested.

One of her best is what we call "green hummus". It has edamame beans as an ingredient...ups the protein percentage some good amount.

Food processor is our tool of choice...tried the blender many a moon ago before we acquired that machine; it worked, sort of, but was like using a rock for a framing hammer, if you get my drift :).

My blender is the only rock I have available for this nail right now. :/: I do plan on getting the Vitamix processer at some point.

I got a couple of lemons, which seem to be popular. I also have Sriracha, if things get desperate.

I think the options are almost endless. I just stirred in a good splash of Sriracha. The hummus concept is working. I grabbed the plate of veggies and the hummus from the fridge, and now I'm sitting on the couch watching YouTube and eating something healthy.

Hummus is good in a wrap also. I like it with cucumber, onion, olive, and feta cheese. You'd probably want to omit the cheese, but it would still be good. All kinds of stuff you can put in a wrap. Sprouts would be good, especially ones with a spicy edge like radish.
