Gibbs Disposal Time

You can replace the spring and the bolt on Gibbs rope grabs, but not the cam or the shell. I honestly don't know how long they last because I've never heard of one breaking before (not even the guy who accidently ran over his with his truck).

What about with a microscender?? Same idea, more or less indestructible under normal use and care, as a lanyard device?

I'm not sure what you mean - how could you use a Gibbs lanyard adjuster with a micropulley? Or do you mean using a micropulley as a slack tender behind a friction hitch? I've had to replace my micropulley one time so far because the cheek plates got worn to a razor edge that was cutting my rope when it got pulled from the side. But it had about 10 years of use on my climbing line before that became a problem.

Yeah, I think that's what it's called...same function as a Gibbs but a little smaller and different shaped...but they both have a cam.
