I made the mistake of looking at a brand new 12" chipper and told the dealer I was thinking of down sizing next year. He called the other day and said he had someone interested in a used model 13 and what did I want for mine. I through out a rough number and told him I was going to go through the tree trader and try to come up with a value from there but just thought i'd ask opinions here too.
2004 model 13 morbark
a little over 1100 hours
Cat/Perkins 130 HP diesel
Never had any serious damage or failures
My winch is not included

I've never seen one chipper with so many cones. In fact, I think those are more cones than the total of ANY tree co here, lol.

Cost less money I think. Willie, I have a Twister 12 and it is perfect for me but its 86 HP is a little light. I usually just chip up to five or six inches and the rest is firewood because I don't want over work the machine.

That's a good chipper. We got rid of one last year due to CARB. Only got 5k. Every year, Morbark change's something. See the black on the chute? Yeah, re-design the exhaust. The vibration issue's are persistent. I am surprised you still had the engine compartment door hinges in place.

It had been a good chipper for me.
This chipper weighs 7500 pounds, new one is 12" and weighs 4500 pounds. Easier on the trucks, when you have depreciated a machine, you should trade in on a new one while trade in is high. Keeps new equipment for minimal cost

IMG_0578.jpg I bought my '01 Bandit 200xp last spring for 8500. Bartlett line clearance chipper as I found out through some investigating. Tach is busted and needed a new fuel stop solenoid. I am guessing it has about 3,000 hours on it based on the wear near the knife bolts. I couldn't find a Blue book value for machinery so I called a couple dealers for thoughts. I would be thinking 20 plus for that. All the dealers told me to expect 13-16 for mine.

Wow, good deal. I sold my 93 bandit 250 with 2000ish hours for 10k in 07-08. I agree with you on mine, 20 something thou or I will keep it!

I just wish it had a winch and a bigger power plant. Its only got a 86 hp perkins in it. I have come close too stallin it twice.:O
