... read the few reviews..., watched all available videos, I am buying. Right now is a terrible time for Tree cash flow ... was looking for a deal but this being a new product everyone has them list price 275 bucks. I plan to single line with it. Something new every so often keeps it interesting and hopefully easier and quicker ...

... for now gonna wait on buying RW ... will use my single cam double handled ascender at first. If I run the tail out of the Petzl through a pulley hung from the CMI above will have some MA ascending.

... I will let you know, but I can't see a reason why it wouldn't work single or double... looks bomb proof to me

Yea, that's a lot of $ to toss at a complicated single line setup when there's cheaper working options.

Dave, I got an email from wesspur this morning. Use the PETZ10 coupon for 10% off. I put one in a cart and checked - $247.50

Yeah, I know it's pricy ... got that Email too ... found 20% off at a Ski Patrol supply place, applied for the coupon, hope they grant it

Petzl coupon code is good at TreeStuff as well.
ZigZag arrived yesterday, and will be giving it a go as soon as driveway gets snowblower treatment. Damn snow.

Well, be sure and let us know how you like it! This is one I will pass on. I have been following its development and testing and, though it is a very impressive design, I think it is about two years too late. It is interesting that everyone that has used it so far, have raved on how it works just like a well-tuned hitch. For that kind of money I want a lot more than that in performance and versatility. Heck, its not even mid-line attachable.

Dave

FYI, I don't think it'll work by itself on single line. You need something to add friction, like a rope wrench or f8 set up. Otherwise it'll be super jumpy, if you can even descend with it on single line.

I've seen it in use and it is very smooth. I agree with a previous post that it is a few years too late however and I think $100 overpriced. I get the feeling they were aiming at the spiderjack market so from that perspective $275 is competitive. If they come down on the price and market it as a compliment to the RW I think it would be very successfully. Knowing PETZL and from what I've heard they have been product testing for several years, so it's easy to see how the concept to reality process got overshadowed by the SRT craze.

The traxion with it is a good idea for backon in SRT ascent if you were going to switch to drt once you got up there. A micro/mini traxion is very fast on/off the line.

But again you're getting into bigger $$$...

I got my mini traxion pretty cheap and rarely use it. Only on SRT traverses in rec climbing. If someone was considering that setup I'd check ebay for a mini.

The ZigZag won't work on a single line unless you also use a RW or other device.
That makes it expensive and its not mid line attachable.
I think it's great but the same as a Spiderjack in terms of what it offers.

Just to add, if I wanted such a product I'd get the Bulldog OAR.
Midline attachable, works double or single line without additional components, better price.
If I hadn't just bought a HH............
