I got Mandi a petzl vertex, and she likes it. The women I worked with at Warren Wilson were also just fine with the Petzl roc or husqvarna helmets too. I think being able to pull a ponytail through the back was a big plus.

All the woman I knew that wore brain buckets just stuffed their hair up under it and went about just like the rest of us . If the Mrs has a long mop of hair just have her get a welders cap ,stuff the hair under it with the bill in the back and jamb the brain bucket over it .

I can't believe ya'll don't wash your hardhat sweatband or gloves. It don't make sense. Why stink?

I'd wash my hardhat but the clunking noise it makes in the washing machine keeps me awake & I haven't figured out a way to fasten it down at the car wash yet. I guess I could try the dishwasher. It does a good job on the chainsaws...Rick

Egads I can't believe she wore the loaner. My own hardhat has that extra special stink you can only get after 12+ months of work in hot weather. Since the smell makes me gag, I can only imagine what my wife would think of it.

hey emergency jobs pay really good
and shes not gonna let a dirty goat smellin hardhat stop us
from gettin our $

i just thought a good hardhat was in order,
the kleenex guy s got the wrong lady in mind
thanks for the serious reply's

Here's a nice HOT PINK hardhat at Amazon. PASTEL PINK is also available.

I'm thinking of making a purchase as I have multiple puncture holes in my noggin from working with osage orange all weekend....with my other past boo-boos in mind, also.....I think it may be time.

These $%^# bifocals have put me at a distinct disadvantage.

Good for you Che. It you buy one with Peltor ear muffs you can swap your worktunes earmuffs over to the hard hat and just wear your hat all over the farm-with Hot pink you'll be easy to spot, your noggin will be safer and you can be entertained all day.

Ok, I'm REAL late on this one!

Guess you found a good hat to fit her...the main problem I have with helmets is the headband doesn't go small enough, I have to 'pad' the headband...I wear a Petzl Ecrin Roc, the second adjuster for the back of the neck really helps with the fitting. I gave my Vertex to my hubby, he needs all the vent holes to keep his brain cool, and he like the chin strap that keeps it from falling off.
The basic orange loaner I have gets cursed, kicked and spit on.
