Talk to me fellas..... dollar for dollar, what brand of skidsteer grapple has pleased you? Im thinking about going with Erskine, flat bottom, dual 3000 lb grapples on top.

I may have been a bit hasty. I know Dave's grapple works great on minis and on articulating loaders, but I haven't seen much about using them on skid steers.

Brush. Im not actually purchasing. My buddy is. He is giving me a say so in the brand and style, as i rent the machine from him more often than he actually uses it. He figures giving me some say in the matter would be wise, because if it doesnt suit me, I wont use it, and he will be out a good bit of money each month. he wants a grapple for demolition work but has no preference on the brand.

I have one of Dave's large skid steer grapples as well as 2 of his mini grapples, they work awesome!

My buddy intends on using it for demolition and Id like to use it to grab logs, branch piles, raking piles.

and do what with those logs, branch piles, raking piles? I know dumb question right? Both grapple styles have their place. For forwarding material backyard to front yard, a skidding style grapple is best in most cases as you can pull out loooong pieces and even feed them into your chipper (12" dia. plus , 40 feet long +/-).
A bucket style grapple is better for loading a truck, moving heavier pieces of wood, and obviously better for any raking piles. The downside to forwarding tree sections with a bucket grapple is, you are limited by the width of your access path.

We use and carry both for our swinger loader. 85% of the time we use the skidding grapple (purchased from tntdave) ;), the other 15% the bucket grapple (bobcat brand).

Best scenario
Demolition - you need a bucket style - trees skidding style

Bucket will do trees and Demo, skid style will only do trees efficiently
sounds like your buddy's needs will win out - less money also
