Has anyone ever seen this before? There are lots of tiny rocks that got under the belt on our Vermeer 252. Two rocks punctured the belt. this is the biggest puncture. Should the belt be replaced?

You can bet that if it fails, it will be mid-stump, so a back-up belt is at least something to have on hand, with the tools to change it.

I agree with Butch and Sean. Probably a good idea to have one on the shelf anyway. Also find out how the rocks are getting in there and fix it if you can

No big worry. I've been running my 252 for 10 yrs now and stones in the belt is a common thing, I just poke them out with my saw's scrench. Belt can go for another year. Those multiple ribbed v belts are super tough.
I keep a spare just in case.

Good to hear. I have been running a 252 for 10 years as well but I have never noticed this before.
