What happened? Did he cut through his lanyard? He survived with minimal injuries considering……

I am not a pro so not well equipped to reconstruct what happened. He may have cut his lanyard. It looks like he threw his saw down and bear hugged the tree as the top fell past him. Then was thrown or pulled off? Or gaffed out lunging to hug tree?? I have no clue. I hope he has a fast recovery. My thoughts are with him and his family.
