Alternative to Alturna mats.

Not really. There are different makers of plastic or fiberglass mats Trackmat comes to mind.

I'm searching alternatives for someone else. He is going to buy alturna mats but before he does, I wanted to see if there were any other comparable options.

Horse stall mats work but are not as stiff and heavy, heavier than Alturnamat at least the 4x8's I looked at.

Alturna mats are kinda like a ms200t.

A tad expensive, you can buy cheaper, but who wants to be cheap when it comes to gear that will make you money?

Used building supply down the road from me. I haven't picked any up in a few years now but five buck a sheet last time I was there. Gotta pick through a bit and I think he had said something about $7.50 a sheet last time I was there but I played the bulk buyer and repeat customer card.
