Ha, ha, what a great idea. I bought a spare HH in case I lost a dogbone. (Didn't want to ever be without it as a working tool.)

GemCutter, I have a new HH in the gold color scheme as a spare in case I ever dropped and lost the dog bone etc.. (My gold one doesn't look beat up to me by the way even though used daily or at least with me 100% of the time for 10 months or so.) At any rate if you wanted a gold one bad I...

Previous to using the HH the only “SRT” experience I’ve had was on the rare occasion when I was leaving a pull line in a spar and didn’t have a limb to use Ddrt from. Choked my line off with a Running Bowline and jerked an my hitch till I got to the ground. When I started using the HH Ddrt it...

ch74, Charles, I have been wondering about you. Good to see you posting again and hear things are moving along well for you. I have some thoughts about your first questions regarding balance, fliplines, sharp climbers but, as they are a little longer and don’t fit the HH thread so well would...

Someone is going to be the first in our industry to start using “Crowd sourcing”. Got to start a thread on that one day.

Next time BlackOak. Yeah at any point that I felt I were stopped on 1 or 2 days of work in a summer/year from choosing not to climb and finish work I will definitely order one. Next year am going to try Butch’s highly recommended cold vests or neck wraps to keep going on hot days. In...

Wraptor, thought I would not want one as it is one more expensive tool to take to the job and to protect. Used one for the first time when I worked back east for a couple of weeks. Humidity and heat were bad enough that I was not going to climb another tree as I was teetering on the brink of...

Ha!Ha! I tried hand pounding a leather punch through - no go. I had a similar ‘punch type affair’ that had a 1/4 screw gun shank on it. Sure enough the fast spinning cut through well. I would chuck an entire leather punch in a pinch. Then I used sharp tin snips to make the cuts. (In case...

Speaking of sewing...anyone use a piece of rubber/tubeing to grip the needle for the pull through? When I first sewed rope etc. I used a pair of pliers - about 4 or 5 times, then the needle wouldn't pass through the rope/material very well.

Oh! That’s too bad... I liked the feel of that. I guess it could easily feel better with another wrap when broken in. And too, I wasn’t geared up either. Could easily have another 20 plus lbs. on. Armorprus, three more wraps with that guys?!!!!!!!!! I’ll be wrapping rope all day. Will try...

Wasn’t climbing, just threw a rope over a limb to try this today. Went up a ladder to see what it felt like. Tried 6 and 7 wraps, this felt best. Will get set up to ascend this weekend. I'll double check the threads on HH to see if this is idiotic.
