I've noticed that the AP hitch cord will start to get a little stiff in the cover after long service. The core has always been basically pristine, but once it starts to get stiff I usually replace with new. Great stuff. I'm also liking the Bee Line Blue stuff. It has been holding up well.

Vortex is the Cadillac of rope. Caddy-rope. 8)

Rope walking is bomb. I love it when you can handhold branch to branch and just walk up the line. 8)

Vortex does not have much bounce to it. Awesome line.

I like the mechanical advantage of DbRT. Less hardware. But I get what you're saying. For pruning/deadwooding, ascending, SRT is bomb.

I've always used AP. Honestly I've never even tried anything else. Bee-line on the HH, but AP is the one for me.

Yeah no worries, I've been running mine on Vortex for awhile now w/ no undue wear issues. If you look at the lower biner on a HH you see the same thing. I LOVE that Rope Wrench. It's just so smooth, it's like regular DbRT friction on the single line. love it.

In my trials the pinto was too wide to work well with the oval carabiners. The Hitch Climber is a tidier setup, even with the standard stiff tether and the offset it creates. I love the Rope Wrench!

I've always used a Distel. I braid it back around the rope at the end and AP almost self-tends on Vortex. I really like that setup. . .

haha, yeah, there's a rope wrench in there somewhere, a HH too, so it's relevant to the thread, sort of. . . :|:

Rope Walking with the Wrench is so very sweet. I like a fresh pair of the smurf gloves myself as opposed to a hand ascender, which can get in the way in dense conifers. . .

After a week and a half of yarding small tree length and clumps of brush. Some of the groves are a couple MM deep, but no distortion of the ring itself. Once the rope fuzzed up it became a dirt mop, despite my best efforts to keep it off the ground, so most of this wear is from grit. FWIW...

I've just been using a loop runner around my neck w/ a biner running to the ring on my bridge. I use suspenders, so another chest harness really clutters things up, for me anyways. Wouldn't say it's perfect, but I can keep it pretty short which in turn keeps everything out of the way. I hook...
