I think y'all are just thrown off because I accidentally posted about something on topic, having to do with trees or saws.... Plus I was being kind in that political thread. Very out of character, I know. I've had to deal with a bit of BS lately in addition to just getting older and more...

Wildlife reintroduction in PNW , Grizzly Bear ... really ?

Black bear are on the rise in Texas. I love the idea. France has re-introduced wolves as well. I love that stuff. What I have is the re-introduction of species like the desert big horn sheep. They have done that in Texas. Thing is the subspecies from Texas is extinct so we have small...

Some monsters are big, others are small. More power than a similar sized petrol saw. I'm going to get the stihl most likely if for no other reason than I'll have other batteries to swap with if I'm running it at the family farm.

I love me some battery powered stuff. Not sure about chainsaws but when it comes to motorbikes and cars, petrol power cannot provide the high power performance that battery power does. Not even close. Electric cars make even the fastest super cars or hotrods seem stupid. The do drastically...

I have a 460 mag if I need to make some chips fly. It has never seen more than light hobby use outside of the 2 weeks of hurricane clean up I bought it for. I like the idea of a small electric saw I can keep in the truck if needed for clearing trails, etc. Mainly when I'm out electric dirt...

Thanks for the input. Giving the Echo 2500 a look as well. For me these are just toys. I haven't been a professional tree guy since something like 2008. I do side jobs still, but my climbing saw is an 020T I bought in 1999. Ragged out, leaking tank, it is time for it to retire.

Carl.... passive interest - LOL!!! I am going to try a home made tornado ball today with something less soft than a medicine ball. Hope to keep all my teeth. Doing the 100 push ups and squats daily has been a game changer. I found out the hard way that running does not make one fit...

tornado ball. wow! I am getting/making one. That is awesome. Currently, in addition to the daily 100 pushups and 100 air squats, I do Turkish Get Ups 3x a week. They make you solid. As an aging man, I need functionality. Need to step up my kettle bell game as well.

    Exercise

I'm fitter than ever. Changed my life. Simple thing suggested by my neighbor, Rogan. No matter what, 100 air squats and 100 push ups. Every day. I do 4 sets of 25. Today was 4 sets of 30. I basically chose good enough over perfect. I am sure a gym is great but I was only making it 3x...

    Cold showers

I love the plunging but have been a wuss about doing it this season. For the record, I live by a lake in Texas. That means current water temp is about 50F. Ok, maybe 48F. Still, cold. I was hell bent on the Polar Bear thing Jan 1. So much so that I went down to that park and swam for...

    Hang Gliding!

Not bragging (warning, here comes bragging) but guess who has the longest HG flight of 2023 in North America? Lol Only 171 straight line miles. More a reflection of the poor flying conditions this yr than my good flying. https://www.paraglidingforum.com/leonardo/flight/3269975

    How to politely decline work?

To qualify that statement, if it is a nasty removal that is easier to remove but requires a lot of man hours for clean up, etc - I'll put a high price on there and then tell them it is because I specialize in difficult/rigging situations, not in manpower and refer them to someone who does.

    How to politely decline work?

Let your high price say no thank you. Then add why you priced it high add something like we can do this all day long but our specialty is....
