I would love to see him pull that one on one of the 150 year old Beech trees, we'll be logging next month.

Nice video. I really enjoyed that. Made me miss working in Elms, ours are looong gone. You've got a good guy on the ropes. Richard and I have always operated with what we call " the bottle neck system" trying to set up jobs so everything runs smoothly. Too slow a climber and the bottle neck is...

In the Amazonas it would be Soy beans to be exported as feed for the 27 million Danish hogs. Malaysia it would be oil palms, also for export.

Did you notice how many members have you on ignore......? Have you noticed that you NEVER get a single like, when you post? Don't you think it is time to give it up and concentrate on your adoring Youtube viewers? Then you can spend twice as much time telling us about the Lizard people being...

"Fruitful dialogue", right. Show me just one case on any treeforum, where someone has managed that with you. The moment everyone doesn't subscribe to your wacky ideas, you go off the deep end. Fruitful dialogue means adulation to you. I'm sure you get plenty of that from all your clueless...

I get that you constantly have to come up with some new idiocy in order to show us all, just how "Out of the box" you are. As for that tree in the video, when you try to get a tree down in a small lay between other trees while causing as little breakage as possible, you want a hinge that breaks...

I started my career working like that. Spruce is cut here in a 40 year harvest cycle. Limb them all day and every day and you really get smooth. All done by mechanical harvesters today.

Where do you most often come across rot and decaying fibers in trees? Near the ground. So on an iffy one like that one, go Burnham style and make as high a stump as possible. That is what we do with the armillaria infested ash trees. Then we cut the stump down, so as not end up having a...

Or move the cars. One strict rule we adhere to at my company. Move anything that can be moved, before falling a tree that can reach it. I have too many stories of loggers hitting their own or a workmate's truck, because they trusted too much in their own skills or simply were lazy.

I guess from now on we all have to bring in a skid steer and set a 4" thick hinge for dumping something that is basically a high stump. I think I'll pass on that and stick with my gutted hinge cut down to 2 stamp sized pieces in the corners.
