Yes. It gets turned down afterwards. You can spray weld stationary objects too.

It would be nice to have some times. I have to work like hell to keep a shaft straight when I weld it. Butch...I guess that there are differnt "base coats" that you apply to keep the stuff where you want it and where you dont.

I love that guy. Warch a lot of his videos. Great way to build up a shaft with out adding a crap load of heat.

Nothing wrong with sheared. Maybe your cut edges will be nicer....less distortion maybe.

One of the first things I learned how to to do was cut the nut off a bolt or cut a bearing off a shaft. The bearing deal was obvious.....but cutting a nut off a bolt was mainly out of cheapness. Dad said.....thats a good bolt underneath! His wheel looks made out of brand new material...

We have a small air arc. My ideal arc 300 will just run it. You can hook a couple together too....if you have enough air.
