More like to a carpenter everything looks like a nail. I understand that since i weld stuff all day everyday for work, my first solution to a problem is build something

I do it because I'm poor and i have to  For me this is business stuff, and I've built all my lowering devices i have. I also build stuff all day everyday. If you want to use a rigging bollard and have powered lifting, that's a way how to do it.

Well the hobbs is direct drive, there's no gearing, so a power pony is about the only thing out there that is geared that low to provide that much torque. It's designed to be run against a stop of some kind, either a pipe clamp attachment or a pipe wrench and sch 80 nipple in the holder for it...

    HOBBS mod

I've obviously never had a hobbs and powered one by them, but I've used them a ton for work and they're built to be used and abused. I cannot stress enough how much torque they apply, it can seriously hurt you if you aren't careful, i consider a chainsaw a safer tool  But if you really...

I was referring to what's commonly called a power pony, it's a powered version of that. It's a handheld threading machine for pipe and conduit, which applies an absolute ton of torque, more than enough to break bones. You'll want to add a bar on the base so it can't spin, but it'll easily supply...

    Kyles redneck builds/ ideas

Well since I'm doing trees again I'm getting to use all my new stuff I've built and found some stuff i want to change. I was using a harbor freight right angle drill to drive my sailboat winch for the chipper winch, but it melted the brush holders because it's not designed for that heavy of use...

And if you want to have something to turn it under power i recommend a hand held threader, it'll easily have enough torque to turn it.

Yup, I'm back finally, and hopefully I'll be able to finish up some of my projects to help me along as i go now that I'll be able to buy parts lol. Doing a tree job every couple weeks or so will greatly help out, and I've got a few of them lined up.

Yup, and even buried propane tanks or other randomness. Also how far away from basement walls, etc. And proper cribbing to spread the force more evenly over a larger area so the ground itself doesn't displace.

Blown up ancient silver, part of a job. Deer eating dinner off in the fields, didn't care about a saw at all, granted it was mainly a battery one tho  The other tree is younger but a horrible pruning cut from at least a decade ago has led to tons of rot on one side, so much so that i think...

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Steam cools off as it travels down the pipe, and some of it will condense into water, aka condensate. It's insulated with gilsulate, which is a white power insulation about the consistency of powdered sugar, so when you dig the lines up and expose them the insulation is cleared away as well. The...

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

What do you mean setup? Why are the lines all right by each other? That's so they're easy to find and insulate, and don't take up much space, but I'll be fixing 1 while the other 2 are live.

It definitely jerked it over, but that's also a more risky method because it can cause the tree or rigging to fail, pulling off limbs or breaking rigging (which could be fatal with a shackle or something flying around). I'm a huge fan of knowing exactly the force I'm working with, and everything...
