Pros and Cos of various friction hitches in the trees

I'm stuck on the vt myself, love a 3/3 vt or a 4/3. Most everyone I know ended up preferring the michoacan. I only use a hitch for the lanyard though, been climbing on mechanical only for very long.

Does the piece need rigged away, or can it drop? Looks like a pretty straightforward snapcut scenario, maybe a little notch.

Mickey, you should post up a pic of your set up. So for your prussic, you use a prussic loop? A taut line hitch is "2 under 1 over" so I'd say it is similar to a prussic but it is tied with a tail of rope so the end of the taut line hitch is loose, unlike a prussic which has no loose end. And...

Pros and Cos of various friction hitches in the trees

I leave my HH installed. I slide my HH to where I need it. I use the untie/retie/ adjustment time instead as time for inspecting the rope. I SRT almost always. Safest self- rescue scenario to my way of thinking. Way easier for me, as well. Do you have a foot ascender or rope...

Depending on the tree I will use double rope . When spur climbing spruce . I choke the tree with a running bowline and into the HH .

Rico is a legend. Might only have been his second pro boxing fight and his first was 15 years ago or something. As I said he is a legend. One of the greatest Heavyweight kick-boxers to ever live. He is no mug and an absolute monster. Peter Fury trained him for 6 months to get him on the...

Pros and Cos of various friction hitches in the trees

When the ZigZag first came out , there were lots of problems with them cracking and breaking . They were real high dollar at the time . And I didnt have any climbing going on other than takedowns , spur climbing . The HH, being so bomb proof . I just stayed with it . Plus the HH works good even...
