    Mentoring New Climbers

That was always a method I employed. Not exclusively, but often. For one reason, it helps me notice what minor missteps the student may be making, that are difficult to see from the ground. For another, just standing and watching can get very boring...and makes for a sore neck :).

Brilliant! Laying a tree down gently

I think the back cut is asking for a chair. I’d go all face. Pull or prop up first to avoid face pinch since we can’t all be @gfberanek

    Jed Walters

I don’t have Jed’s number but I do have numbers of old friends and family member who are no longer with us. Those numbers will be in there forever or till I lose the phone. What’s that old saying? people only truly die when their name is spoken for the last time. I like to think of my mobile...

Brilliant! Laying a tree down gently

I agree with Kenny. Use a back cut, just put in a thick enough hinge, AND secure the trunk with a load binder strap, even if you bore cut, or you risk barber chairing. Yes, this is really hard to do on short, fat diameter trees.

    Jed Walters

I was just thinking of Jed this morning and trying to figure out how something like this could have happen to someone like him? Then I realized that I would never find a reason and just have to accept that bad things happen to good people every day, like the saying goes. I am just so happy to...

Bruce ain’t the one I turn to for political interpretation…🤣 Perhaps he should have joined some of those other folks who packed their duds and ran off to another country to take up residence.

The Official TreeHouse Martial Arts Thread!

The youth get called up but if you don’t want to do military service you don’t have to. e.g Stine’s cousin went into the coastal service to contribute to his captains ticket as he is a commercial fisherman. Haakon wants to do it, but everyone gets a call.
