My first climb line and rigging line were Arbor plex. Quickly got a 16 strand. Next had another AP.

When you’re going to run it natural crotch and burn it up anyway, why NOT use ArborPlex? I’m perfectly satisfied with it. Been using it for 35-ish years now. I use 1/2” for up to 500#-600# stuff, and 5/8” when it gets bigger. I have a 75’ hank that I keep hanging on my side when it’s not in use...

This brings to a close the eradication of Siberian elms from one of the golf courses my father in law who recently passed from cancer was superintendent of. Whole thing has been fun but bittersweet. I wish he had still been here to see me do it, and it done.

The twelve days of.. birbs...?

The farm and woodland is about 5 km from my place. It was about -3c so quite fresh but not too bad. Here is the tree, pretty standard looking Norwegian Spruce.

M took some pictures of the high water in our creek and over the road near the end of our driveway... Underwater, just left of center of the first pic, is the 36 inch diameter culvert. A sucking whirlpool forms and dissipates every few seconds. If you got near that, it would take you down in...

So yesterday I passed the competition and they were hauling tree parts and I was hauling trees to be planted( 8 swamp w. oaks, two sugars. Tree work in full circle crossing paths on the road. I found the irony funny.

The only credit I’ll give arborplex is that it coils beautifully once it’s glazed over.

I still use it nearly every day....:D It will lower a limb just as well as the most expensive rope out there.
