How'd it go today?

Tough day, just me and the 16 year old, I forgot that having to do all the driving, cutting, grinding et al is very tiring.

But I get to keep soooo much money!

Awesome saw Stephen - I'd love a full or 3/4 for mine, but you can't get them for love nor money here in the UK :(

Once they elect Trump, the $ will fall like a stone and I'll start importing logging stuff by the pallet again.

So, sometime next year, give me a call, and I'll get botha 3/4 and full wrap tossed on the pallet for you.
Be dirt cheap by then.

Try to make a stump the required height here with a full wrap.

You'd need a pickax and a showel, too:lol:

Indeed. Beautiful tree!!!!

Yeah, low stumping with a 3/4 kind of sucks. Why I usually have a like saw with a 1/2 wrap as well on the truck. Had to ALAP an oak the other day with the 372 with a 3/4 wrap... low enough, but.......

I wish the pictures of the deck did the wood justice. The different greys and bluing in the wood is pretty. Next will be cutting the posts to 3' and wrapping them in 1X of the same wood. Those are treated cross arms from power poles. They will last forever, but splinter like all get out. Some I'll finish them up by wrapping them. Then the rails will go on.
This project is taking forever. Seems I never get a whole week end to work on it. The wood is milled and the same day I stain it. Next day second coat. Dry one day and then cut the planks and lay them during the week after work. That was 4 days work on that 1/2 of deck. All my old back will take after work. Knees kind of make a fuss of it too
Been sick too. Had to take a day off from work yesterday. Kids brought something home that has been kicking my arse for the better part of two weeks now. I will be taking Levi to the Dr. today. Took another day off for that. His tummy is really giving him grief. Like he is hit again and again with this bug. Kids are horrible about washing hands. I hope he did not get something from working with the animals. Chickens are his.. I can only speculate.
I need to take the family to the coast soon and take a break if we don't go broke first. Having to cancel work and such is hurting the pocket book...
Summer needs to be over right soon.

Damn, I've never been ill that long. Heck, my last flu was back in the early 80's! Haven't been (knock wood) sick since then...

Go see a doc!

Stephen, you sound like you are riding herd on a lotta stuff. Hard to do that when you don't feel good yourself. Hope Levi just has a transient bug.

I doubt that it was from the animals, of course you never know for sure I guess.

Barn yard dirt (poop) is an important part of a kids immune system development. Of course I don't know that as fact, just seems plausible. Could very well be salmonella if from chickens though.

Hope you start feeling better soon.

Well the young lad has been hard at it in the heat, he has a nickname "soft boy" because as Ray said, he's kind of soft round the middle.
I like it when they fall asleep in the van on the way home, you feel you've got your money's worth.

Haha!

Todays plan was to pick up my dump truck in Simcoe, needed a new front bumper to pass safety, which during my look over I pointed out. Waited at my GF's in Waterford. Supposed to be ready this aft, but I guess the replacement bumper was rotted as well. We will see tomorrow. GF needs to go see her specialist in Hamilton late morning, and I have to drive her.

He's ok, quiet lad, not prone to bs.

I try not to draw him out too much or give him a load of macho nonsense about the job. Just let him ease his way into it.

I have T shirts older than him!
