Now ya just need one with a harness, rope and the machine in the logo ;)

Way too complicated and detailed, if you ask me. Imagine trying to get that thing laser engraved or something like that. Imagine it very small.

I think it needs to be simplified.

It's a nice picture, but it doesn't really show what it does or anything like that. Looks like it should be on a comic book.

Any way to show upward movement or anything like that?

I don't like cartoony logos for business. I would try to make the first one more animal like and less anthropomorphized. Your selling competency and class with no wink or a nod. Just my take on it.

I like what Nick said too.

Here is what I went with from the original picture to the graphic.

My graphic designer worked on computer and gave me dozens of choices each point along the way. It cost me only $400 or so.

edit: Don't try to save money on branding.

The highest part of the cost is the digitizing as I remember when I had some stuff done up. After that is was repeat the process over and over and it got cheaper and cheaper by the dozen :)

The artist's idea doesn't get it for me, not much warmth and depth in the image. The second rendering seems a step in the right direction, however. I'd like to see a claw clutching a branch or something, to give a better idea of the overall purpose. Don't like the reptiles goofy expression either, it seems gimmicky.

I agree with Jay. I wish I could offer up something better but I'm no artist. The artwork is ok but it doesn't appeal to me nor do I associate it with the Wraptor. There needs to be a tie-in with the product in some way, shape or form.

First one, but with wings up, reverse the arrow so it is pointing upward instead of down.

The wraptor is all about going up so the logo should be in an upward direction also.

I'm not a big fan of cartoony cartoons for industrial logos. The beaver squeezer is a prime example.

What about a "large" spiral (oriented the direction the drum spins) with the last curve stop curving and going straight up (with an arrow on the end, or a rope tied to a limb/bar/ect). The wraptor's tail in the first picture is the size "spiral" I was thinking of, as it's what gave me the idea. Any more loops and it'd look like the device held the rope on a drum. The spiral design on the back of a T shirt sized to fit me () would certainly draw the eye and thus more attention.

The Wraptor may have more marketability than just trees, no point in limiting the logo.

Furthermore, the logo could be engraved on the drum to show which direction it feeds the rope ;)

I don't get it. What is that thing, a pteradactil (sorry for the spelling), a dragon or a dinosaur?

When I hear the word Wraptor I think of a kick-ass bird of prey. A falcon or an eagle. Top of the food chain, fling higher, faster, fearing nothing.

Using that image as a wraptor is like viewing the American Indian from an old western movie...it's even worse than that.

You asked...:)

Dave
