Does anyone have a good source of some cheap light weight biners? I am looking to spend about $5 per biner. I dont care what kind, size, shape, locking or non...... but not those key chain biners. I just want some more accessory biners to have around. I am looking to get 5 to 10. I really like those Mad Rock Ultralights or the Black Diamond something or others that weigh only 35+/- grams, but like I said, I am not picky. I would even consider some no-namers off of e-bay. Anyone have any ideas?

Brian, Is a genius(he agrees with me most of the time). I also like Gear Express and Positrons are marvy.

Several years ago I went shopping with the exact same intent. I bought ten POS cheap carabiners and used one of them once. I think I still have 7-8 of them all clipped together on a bin out in the shop. If you want them I'll give them all to you for $20. Then you can try them before throwing them away and ordering the Positrons.

I will take them. I just want them to clip stuff to my saddle, rope bags, etc. If you are serious about getting rid of them, pm me and I will get you the money.

Brian, We got back to the office today and the biners were there already. Thanks much. They are exactly what we wanted. I sent your payment out this morning. Please let me know when it gets there safely. Thanks again.:thumbupold:

Good deal. I told you they were crappy biners, though! I found one more of the blasted things yesterday while looking for something else in the spare bedroom closet.

When you want a better general purpose biner, check out those Positrons. They open really wide for such a small biner and have a keyed gate so no snags.

we have several of those Omegas already. I have no problems at all. I am really glad this all worked out. Thanks again!

Just an idea here, but I buy my "cheap" biners in quickdraw format... It's sometimes cheaper to buy a whole draw setup then the biners themselves. I got these, when they were on sale for $9.99 (you still get that price if you buy 6 or more, depending on where you shop)

I'm a huge fan of wire gates though, not everyone is.

Of course, I learned this cause I needed draws for sport climbing but they work equally well in the trees for misc tasks.

I have bought quick draws before. You are right, they can be cheaper than buying biners separately.

By the way NorthWoodsDiver, where are you located? Are you in WI by chance? I used to do a lot of scuba diving in "our" north woods.
